    The content policy of OpenEI is based on Wikipedia’s policy. In more detail, the content policy includes:

    • neutrality
    • verifiability – sources must be indicated
    • OpenEI is not a platform for original research (sources required)

    OpenEI is a wiki (operates like Wikipedia): users can see, add, edit data on the platform.
    For data validation and assessment, the platform has a user community: all users can score and modify data, indicate the absence of sources or metadata, etc.

    Like the European data portal, OpenEI uses the content management system CKAN for open-access data management.
